The issue of the rights of the people with disabilities should be recognised as human rights instead of welfare or charity, said rights activists on Saturday.
At a press conference they also urged the interim government to meet their 15-point demands, including ensuing ministry based allocation of business for disabled people鈥檚 education, health, and other rights, active different committees and more budget allocation for them.聽聽
Disability Rights Watch, a watch dog working for an inclusive society, held the press conference at Midas Centre in the capital.
The event, titled Press Conference Demanding the Legal Rights, Protection, and Prevention of All Negligence, Deprivation and Violation of Human Rights, was supported by the Transparency International Bangladesh.
