Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC held its Business Development Conference 2025 on Saturday at a hotel in the capital Dhaka.

Chairman of the bank Khwaja Shahriar inaugurated the conference as chief guest. The meeting was presided by the managing director and chief executive officer of the bank Farman R Chowdhury.


Khwaja Shahriar said, ‘We want to prioritize sustainable development by further strengthening good governance, accountability and responsibility.’

He gave instructions to the branch managers to reduce default investment of the Bank.

Managing director and CEO Farman R Chowdhury said, ‘There is no alternative to increasing deposits and quality investments.’

He emphasised on providing better and faster services by being more sincere in customer service to the branches.

According to unaudited data, the total deposit of the Bank stood at Tk 47,735 crore at the end of 2024. At that time, the Import and Export volumes were Tk 34,382 crore and Tk 25,580 crore respectively and the received amount of remittance was Tk 9,014 crore.

Directors of the bank Md Abdul Wadud, Md Shahin Ul Islam, Mohammed Abu Eusuf and Mohammad Asraful Hassan, among others, were present in the meeting.
