The Bangladesh women’s kabaddi team will start their first-ever Test series campaign by taking on hosts Nepal in the first of the five-match series in Kathmandu today.
The remaining four matches of the series will be held on April 21, 22, 24 and 25.
Bangladesh are playing this Test series as part of their preparation for the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup, which will be held in Rajgir, Bihar, India, from June 1 to June 8.
Bangladesh captain Sraboni Mallick believes that a successful campaign in the series will boost them to perform better in the World Cup.
‘If we win the series, we can hope to perform better in the World Cup to be held in India. So, we will give our best in the series,’ said Sraboni before leaving home for Nepal on Saturday.
‘Even though we did not play as many tournaments as Nepal had played before the series and lost to them in the last edition of the SA Games and the Asian Games, we hope to win the series based on our more than month-long training camp at home,’ she added.
