The seventh edition of the exhibition titled Impression of Surroundings ended on Tuesday at Safiuddin Shilpalay at Dhanmondi in the capital.

Visual artist Mohd Mohiuddin Ahmed has displayed his response to space through his abstract paintings at the exhibition.

The five-day solo exhibition of his 42 recent paintings expresses surroundings including sights, sounds and smells in nonrepresentational forms.

Blending various media with sharp lines and vivid colours, the artist creates contemporary themes with the artist’s unique perspective.

‘I draw what I experience from my surroundings. The texture and colour of old buildings, river and lake of my village reflected in my canvas through line, colour and abstract forms,’ said artist Mohd Mohiuddin Ahmed.

The 11th solo exhibition of the artist was inaugurated by Nepal ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari on November 22.
