A month-long group art exhibition titled ‘Ora Egaro Jan’ is under way at Meta Garage in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates.

Bangladesh Art Week is organising the event in association with Meta Garage and Meta Moina.


The exhibition, jointly curated by designer and founder of Bangladesh Art Week Niharika Momtaz and performing arts professional Venus Hosseini, features 24 artworks of 11 Bangladeshi women artist’s artworks.

Inaugurated on April 26, the exhibition aims to promote cultural activities worldwide and represent Bangladesh on the global stage.

Director of Alliance Française Dubai Saïd Nourine attended the exhibition as special guest, among others, at the inauguration ceremony while the exhibition displays paintings, prints, textiles, sculptures, photography and multimedia of artists Arpita Singha Lopa, Azizee Fawmi Khan, Bubly Barna, Farah Naz Moon, Farzana Ahmed Urmi, Farzana Rahman Bobby, Hasura Akther Rumky, Mahmuda Siddika, Monidipa Dasgupta, Monon Muntaka, and Tamanna Liza.

‘I have dreamt of representing my motherland on the world stage and the dream motivated me to arrange such an exhibition,’ Niharika Momtaz said, adding that the fourth edition of the flagship exhibition aims to introduce Bangladeshi artists, artworks, innovation, and creativity to the international art market.

Bangladesh Art week is a platform dedicated to promote art and culture of Bangladesh and the event Ora Egaro Jan is being organised to support the female artists of Bangladesh as part of women empowerment, said Niharika Momtaz.

The event will end on May 25.
