
Bangladesh Nationalist Party acting chairman Tarique Rahman on Monday urged the party leaders to remain united, work hard, be honest and hold strong principles in order to build the country’s future.
‘We must bring good people forward for the future of the country, as it has been destroyed by the fleeing dictator who pushed the country many steps back,’ he said in a virtual address at the inauguration of the BNP’s membership renewal programme held at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan.
Tarique renewed his membership online during the inauguration of the programme.
At the same time, party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Nazrul Islam Khan and Salahuddin Ahmed, senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and treasurer M Rashiduzzaman Millat also renewed their memberships.
‘To rebuild the country we have presented a 31-point plan, and for its implementation, the party must be united and reorganised,’ Tarique said.
Mirza Fakhrul said that right now the competition in politics was not about slogans, but who can write and speak better on social media which manifests one’s intelligence and talent.Â
‘We have to keep this in mind that we cannot win coming battle with slogans alone,’ the party secretary general said.
