Founder of the Gonoforum and its emeritus president Dr Kamal Hossain on Sunday called on the political parties to cooperate with the interim government headed by Professor Muhammad Yunus for democratic transition of the country.

Eminent jurist Kamal Hossain at a programme, organised by the Gonoforum at the National Press Club to mark the 88th birthday of the founder of the party, hoped that the interim government would hold next general elections within a justified time for democratic transition of the country.


The fascist Awami League government has destroyed the election system and also all the institutions of the country, Kamal Hossain said.

General secretary of the party Mohammad Mizanur Rahman in his welcome address hoped that the interim government would hold the next general elections as early as possible in a free, fair and credible manner.

Chaired by presidium member of the party, SM Altaf Hossain, president of Bangladesh Jasod Sharif Nurul Ambia, general secretary of Socialist Party of Bangladesh Bazlur Rashid Firoz, academics Abdul Latif Masum, Gonoforum presidium members Jaglul Haider Afrik and Mushtaque Ahmed, and others also spoke at the programme.
